Posted in Backgammon on 12/04/2015 05:21 am by LillieThe aim of a Backgammon match is to shift your chips around the game board and get those pieces from the board quicker than your opposing player who works just as hard to achieve the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Winning a game of Backgammon requires both tactics and good luck. How far you will be able to move your pieces is left to the numbers from tossing the dice, and how you shift your checkers are determined by your overall playing plans. Players use different techniques in the different stages of a game dependent on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Strategy
The goal of the Running Game strategy is to bring all your pieces into your inner board and get them off as fast as you can. This tactic concentrates on the pace of shifting your checkers with absolutely no efforts to hit or block your opponent’s pieces. The ideal scenario to use this plan is when you think you can shift your own chips a lot faster than your opposition does: when 1) you have a fewer checkers on the game board; 2) all your pieces have moved beyond your opponent’s chips; or 3) the opponent doesn’t use the hitting or blocking technique.
The Blocking Game Plan
The main goal of the blocking plan, by the name, is to block your competitor’s pieces, temporarily, not worrying about moving your checkers quickly. After you’ve established the blockage for your opponent’s movement with a few chips, you can move your other pieces swiftly from the board. You will need to also have a good strategy when to back off and shift the checkers that you used for the blockade. The game gets interesting when the competitor utilizes the same blocking tactic.
