Posted in Backgammon on 07/18/2017 08:25 am by LillieThe objective of a Backgammon match is to move your chips around the Backgammon board and get those pieces off the board quicker than your opposing player who works just as hard to achieve the same buthowever they move in the opposing direction. Succeeding in a match in Backgammon requires both strategy and good luck. Just how far you can shift your checkers is left to the numbers from rolling a pair of dice, and how you shift your chips are decided on by your overall playing tactics. Enthusiasts use different plans in the different stages of a game dependent on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Plan
The goal of the Running Game tactic is to bring all your checkers into your home board and get them off as quickly as you can. This technique concentrates on the pace of moving your chips with absolutely no efforts to hit or block your competitor’s chips. The ideal time to employ this plan is when you think you can shift your own chips quicker than your opponent does: when 1) you have less pieces on the board; 2) all your checkers have past your opponent’s chips; or 3) your opposing player doesn’t employ the hitting or blocking tactic.
The Blocking Game Strategy
The primary goal of the blocking strategy, by its name, is to stop your competitor’s pieces, temporarily, not worrying about shifting your pieces rapidly. As soon as you’ve established the blockage for the competitor’s movement with a few pieces, you can move your other chips quickly off the board. The player should also have a good plan when to extract and shift the chips that you utilized for blocking. The game becomes interesting when your opposition utilizes the same blocking tactic.
