The aim is to shift your chips carefully around the board to your inner board while at the same time your opposition shifts their checkers toward their inside board in the opposing direction. With opposing player checkers heading in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for specific techniques at particular times. Here are the last two Backgammon plans to finish off your game.
The Priming Game Plan
If the purpose of the blocking strategy is to slow down the opponent to shift his checkers, the Priming Game plan is to absolutely block any activity of the opponent by building a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s checkers will either get bumped, or result a damaged position if she at all attempts to escape the wall. The trap of the prime can be established anywhere between point 2 and point eleven in your board. After you have successfully constructed the prime to block the movement of your opponent, the opponent doesn’t even get to roll the dice, and you shift your pieces and toss the dice again. The Back Game Strategy
The goals of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game tactic are very similar – to hinder your competitor’s positions hoping to improve your chances of winning, but the Back Game strategy relies on alternate techniques to achieve that. The Back Game plan is generally employed when you are far behind your opponent. To play Backgammon with this technique, you have to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This strategy is more complex than others to use in Backgammon because it requires careful movement of your checkers and how the chips are relocated is partly the result of the dice toss.
